01Metallic taste is saliva chemistry, not a failed pack

Saliva carries the drug. Cold food and gum mask it. Wine does not, and alcohol stays banned.

Mateo Ruiz files this complaint next to the alcohol wait because both wreck completion. One is chemistry in saliva. The other is acetaldehyde after ethanol. Do not treat them as the same complaint.

02Completion still matters

An unfinished anaerobic course is a clinic week. Two unfinished courses, if a partner stops in sympathy, are worse.

Warfarin and lithium interactions still apply. The taste paragraph does not replace those labs.

03Longer courses give the mouth more days

Taste intensity does not map one-to-one to peak plasma. Higher and longer courses still give more days of exposure.

Do not restart leftover Flagyl because food still tastes odd.

Usually no. Metallic taste is a common labelled effect. Cold food and gum mask it. If you cannot keep tablets down, call. Wine will not wash it out and alcohol stays banned.

Peak plasma after 250 mg sits near 6 mcg/mL in classic PK rows, 500 mg near 12. Taste intensity does not map one-to-one, but longer courses give the mouth more days of exposure.

If vomiting empties a dose, that person calls. The partner does not stop in sympathy. One unfinished course is already a problem.

Neurologic leftovers are not taste leftovers. Keep them separate in the message you send the clinician. See the alcohol note if the real question is a drink.

Food can ease nausea. It does not require a fatty feast. High-fat meals are not a metronidazole food-effect story the way they are for sildenafil.
