Is generic Cialis tadalafil once Teva listed it?

Yes. FDA listed Teva's generic tadalafil in May 2018. The tablet is tadalafil. The as-needed start on the US Cialis label is still 10 mg before sexual activity. Brand name on the script does not change that milligram. Later listings from other makers are the same ingredient. This page names the May 2018 listing, not an application number.

01Is the generic still a 10 mg as-needed start?

Forest-green still life: two identical pale tablets, one still in foil, mint tick between them

Generic bottles still follow the as-needed start at 10 mg. The prescriber may later move to 20 mg or down to 5 mg. Foil color does not rewrite that ladder. See 10 mg start, then 20 or 5.

Daily 2.5 mg and 5 mg remain other bottles. BPH is 5 mg once daily. Those regimens are not a cheaper 10 mg split.

02Are later generic makers still tadalafil?

Later generic makers still sell tadalafil. FDA listed additional tadalafil tablets after Teva's first-to-file window. Each listing is still the same ingredient at 2.5, 5, 10, or 20 mg on the US film-coated set.

A cart that prints 40, 60, or 80 mg next to a Cialis photo is not that set. See the four US strengths.

03What did the May 2018 listing not change?

Half-life near 17.5 hours stayed. Food still leaves rate and extent unmoved. Nitrates stayed contraindicated. One as-needed tablet a day stayed the usual frequency. The listing changed who could make the tablet, not those rows.

04When did pharmacies actually stock Teva tadalafil?

Teva said it launched the US generic in late September 2018. That is a commercial start, not a second listing date. May 2018 remains the FDA listing this page tracks.

A pharmacy may now stock another maker's tadalafil. The INN and the 10 mg as-needed start stay the same. Ask the pharmacist which maker is on the shelf if you need to match a prior bottle.

05What did FDA list in May 2018?

FDA listed Teva's generic tadalafil on May 22, 2018. That listing covered the US Cialis tablet strengths then in play for that maker. The ingredient is tadalafil, the same INN as branded Cialis.

May 2018 is the listing date. Shelves did not have to move that same week. The labelled start did not change when the generic name appeared.

06Does the script have to say Cialis?

Scripts can say Cialis or tadalafil. The pharmacy fills the product line and the milligram that arrived. Substitution rules sit with the state and the writer, not with a forum thread.

Brand and generic both need the written order. See how 10 mg gets written.

Vault consult

Answers follow the U.S. Cialis label.

Iria G. Did Teva invent a new milligram in May 2018?

Vault reply

No. The listing was generic tadalafil at the US Cialis strengths. As-needed use still starts at 10 mg.

Enric B. Is a later maker's bottle a different drug?

Vault reply

Later FDA-listed tablets are still tadalafil. The 10 mg as-needed start does not change with the maker name.

Sofia W. Do I need a filing number to fill 10 mg?

Vault reply

No. The pharmacy fills the written tadalafil 10 mg line. A filing number is not part of that fill.
