Which Levitra strengths can a US order list?

Four film-tablet strengths sit on US Levitra and generic vardenafil labels: 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 mg. Brand Levitra film tablets are orange and round, with a BAYER cross on one side and the milligram on the other. This vault follows 20 mg, the labelled maximum. The usual start for most men is 10 mg. Staxyn is a 10 mg orally disintegrating tablet, not a fifth film strength.

01Which milligrams can a US film order name?

Section 3 lists vardenafil film tablets at 2.5, 5, 10, and 20 mg. Some later brand listings emphasize 5, 10, and 20 mg in commerce. The 2.5 mg tablet remains a labelled strength for the CYP and stacked rows.

Generic makers use their own imprints. Teva's US catalog, for example, marks 2.5 / 5 / 10 / 20 mg with TV codes, not a BAYER cross. Read the milligram on the order.

02What else is in the brand film tablet?

Besides vardenafil HCl, brand Levitra lists microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, yellow ferric oxide, and red ferric oxide. Those inactive ingredients explain the orange film. They do not set the dose.

Generic films can use a different color system. Match the milligram and the product line, not the shade.

03Where does Staxyn sit on this list?

Staxyn sits beside the film list as a 10 mg orally disintegrating tablet with its own water and food rules. It is not film-coated 20 mg and not a generic substitute for a Levitra 20 mg film line.

If the order says film-coated 20 mg, fill a film tablet. If it says Staxyn, fill Staxyn.

04Should a 20 mg tablet be split to make 10?

Ten milligrams is its own labelled tablet. The insert does not ask anyone to split 20 mg to create the usual start. CYP 2.5 mg is also its own tablet.

A kitchen split is a homemade strength. Ask the prescriber to write the milligram that belongs on the script.

05Which of the four belongs on a first script?

Most men start at 10 mg. Age 65, stable alpha-blockers, and Child-Pugh B consider or start at 5 mg. Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors use 2.5 mg. Twenty milligrams is the ceiling after a tolerated climb.

The start-dose probe holds that ladder. This page only names the four tablets.

06What does a brand 20 mg tablet look like?

Brand Levitra is an orange, round, film-coated tablet. One side has a BAYER cross. The other side has 5, 10, or 20 matching the milligram. Older descriptions also include a 2.5 mg brand tablet with the same cross.

Color on a website photo is not a strength check. A tan generic 20 mg tablet can be the same INN as an orange brand 20 mg tablet.

No. Staxyn is an orally disintegrating tablet, usually 10 mg. Two-point-five milligrams is a swallowed film strength for CYP rows.
