Does Levitra start an erection on its own?

No. Sexual stimulation has to start the local nitric oxide release. PDE5 inhibition has no effect in the absence of that stimulation. The 20 mg tablet is not a rigidity switch you swallow and wait out. The labelled hour is still about 60 minutes before activity, once a day, with or without food. Plasma at that hour is not an erection.

01If 20 mg sat in plasma and nothing happened, is the generic failed?

A night without stimulation is a failed test of the person, not a failed INN. A high-fat plate can also cut Cmax 18 to 50 percent. Check those two before anyone changes the milligram.

If stimulation was present, the plate was quiet, and 10 mg was already clean, 20 mg is the labelled ceiling step. If 10 mg was never tried, the usual start is still 10 mg.

02Why does the tablet do nothing without arousal?

During stimulation, nitric oxide is released in the corpus cavernosum and cGMP rises. Vardenafil slows the breakdown of that cGMP by PDE5. Without the nitric oxide start, there is nothing extra to keep.

Waiting out 60 minutes in another room does not replace that start. The hour is when to swallow, not a substitute for arousal.

03Should a partner expect rigidity at minute 60?

Median peak after 20 mg fasted is near 60 minutes. That is plasma, not rigidity. The onset pulse keeps that stopwatch. Stimulation still has to be in the room at that hour.

Planning the swallow about 60 minutes prior is the labelled instruction. Planning the evening without any arousal is not.

04Does taking 20 mg every morning remove the need to plan sex?

Levitra is as needed, once per day. It is not a daily trough product. Swallowing 20 mg at breakfast does not create an all-day automatic erection.

The once-a-day probe holds the frequency cap. This page only says stimulation still has to happen.

05Do tadalafil and sildenafil drop this requirement?

Each US PDE5 label still requires sexual stimulation. Switching the INN does not create a no-touch tablet. This probe stays on vardenafil.

If the complaint is 'I took 20 mg and watched a match', the first fix is the setting, not a second brand from a cart.

06What does the dosing section say about stimulation?

Sexual stimulation is required for a response to treatment. That sentence sits in Dosage 2.1 next to the 10 mg start and the once-daily cap. It applies at 20 mg the same way.

Physicians are told to explain that sexual stimulation is required for an erection to occur after taking Levitra. The counseling line is not optional color.
