Can you take nitrates with Levitra?

No. Organic nitrates stay off the same chart. Riociguat, a guanylate cyclase stimulator, is the same contraindication. In healthy middle-aged subjects, Levitra 20 mg potentiated the blood-pressure drop from 0.4 mg sublingual nitroglycerin at 1 hour and at 4 hours, and raised heart rate at 1, 4, and 8 hours. Those extra effects were not seen when 20 mg was taken 24 hours before the nitroglycerin. A suitable interval for the safe use of a nitrate after Levitra has not been determined. The pair stays contraindicated.

01Which nitrate forms sit on the stop?

Regular or intermittent organic nitrates and nitric oxide donors are contraindicated. That includes tablets, sprays, ointments, pastes, and patches, and isosorbide dinitrate or mononitrate.

Recreational nitrites called poppers (amyl nitrite, butyl nitrite) sit in that family on the patient leaflet. A travel-kit spray is not a special case.

02What happened when 20 mg sat before 0.4 mg NTG?

Eighteen healthy subjects took Levitra 20 mg at various times before 0.4 mg sublingual nitroglycerin. Extra blood-pressure lowering showed up when 20 mg was dosed 1 or 4 hours before NTG. Extra heart-rate rise showed up at 1, 4, and 8 hours.

When 20 mg was taken 24 hours before NTG, those extra pressure and rate changes were not detected. The insert still says a suitable interval has not been determined, and the contraindication stays.

03Chest pain after 20 mg. Can the kit spray go on?

No. The patient counseling says concomitant use could drop blood pressure to an unsafe level, with dizziness, syncope, or even heart attack or stroke. Emergency care has to know a PDE5 was taken. Do not self-dose the spray.

04Is riociguat a second stop or the same idea?

Guanylate cyclase stimulators such as riociguat are contraindicated. PDE5 inhibitors, including Levitra, may potentiate their hypotensive effects. That is a second named wall, not a footnote on nitrates.

A pulmonary-hypertension chart that already has riociguat does not get a 20 mg weekend tablet. Leave the carton unopened.

05If Levitra is stopped, can another PDE5 sit with a nitrate?

Sildenafil and tadalafil carry the same class contraindication with organic nitrates. Switching the INN does not open the spray.

Pick a night without a nitrate. Or pick a chest plan without a PDE5. Do not mix the kit.

06Does the 24-hour quiet period clear a man with angina?

Potentiation of nitrate hypotension in patients with ischemic heart disease has not been evaluated. The 24-hour volunteer finding is not a home clearance for a man who needs a nitrate.

If sex is inadvisable because of cardiovascular status, Levitra is already off the table under Warnings 5.1. A 20 mg carton does not reopen that visit.
