01What is the usual adult Doryx pattern before a special row?
Day one is 200 mg, given as 100 mg every 12 hours. Maintenance is 100 mg daily, as one swallow or as 50 mg every 12 hours. More severe infections, especially chronic urinary-tract infections, use 100 mg every 12 hours.
Those sentences set a rhythm. They do not set a stop date by themselves. The stop date is the indication that follows, or the number of days the clinician wrote after reading that indication.
02What syphilis rows sit on Doryx, and for whom?
Early syphilis, in people who cannot take penicillin: 100 mg twice daily for 2 weeks. Syphilis of more than one year's duration, same allergy limit: 100 mg twice daily for 4 weeks.
Those rows are alternative therapy when penicillin is contraindicated. They are not a first-line rewrite for someone who can take penicillin.
03How long are anthrax post-exposure and malaria prophylaxis?
Inhalational anthrax post-exposure in adults is 100 mg twice daily for 60 days. Malaria prophylaxis in adults is 100 mg daily, starting 1 or 2 days before travel, continuing in the area, then 4 more weeks after leaving, and not beyond 4 months.
Those two calendars must not be mixed. A 60-day twice-daily anthrax pack is not a travel bottle. A travel bottle is not 60 days twice daily.
04When does the label say continue 10 days?
Streptococcal infections should be continued for 10 days. Acute epididymo-orchitis caused by C. trachomatis is 100 mg twice daily for at least 10 days.
At least 10 days is a floor, not a forum taper. The writer can keep going. This page does not invent a 14-day sinus default.
05What if the infection is not on that list?
Then this page cannot honestly print a day count. Severe acne is adjunctive and has no labelled course length. Lyme disease days are not written on the US Doryx file.
The honest next click is the indication on the Doryx order. Frequency, once you have the indication, is once or twice daily.
06Which labelled infections use 7 days?
Uncomplicated urethral, endocervical, or rectal C. trachomatis: 100 mg twice daily for 7 days, or 200 mg once daily for 7 days. Uncomplicated gonococcal infection in adults, except anorectal infection in men: 100 mg twice daily for 7 days. Nongonococcal urethritis from U. urealyticum: 100 mg twice daily for 7 days.
An alternate gonococcal single-visit row is 300 mg, then another 300 mg one hour later. That pair is a visit, not a 7-day bottle.
