01Does this label write Lyme disease days?
No. Do not invent them. Relapsing fever due to Borrelia recurrentis is a specific bacterial infection on the list. Borrelia burgdorferi days from an outside guideline are not imported here.
If the written diagnosis is Lyme, the duration belongs to the clinician and that guideline, not to a Doryx-duration table this page refuses to fake.
02Why does the order have to name the infection?
Because the dosage chapter is a stack of special rows, not one calendar. Day-one 200 mg then 100 mg daily is the usual pattern. Seven-day, ten-day, two-week, four-week, and sixty-day rows sit on named organisms and named sites.
A delayed-release line that names no proven or strongly suspected bacterium, and no labelled prophylactic use, is unlikely to help the patient and makes later resistance more likely. Writing only doxycycline 100 mg DR has not done that work.
03Which named infections do have days on this file?
Streptococcal infections: 10 days. Uncomplicated C. trachomatis at urethral, endocervical, or rectal sites: 7 days at 100 mg twice daily or 200 mg once daily. Uncomplicated gonococcal infection except anorectal infection in men: 7 days twice daily. NGU from U. urealyticum: 7 days twice daily. Early syphilis when penicillin is not possible: 2 weeks twice daily. Longer syphilis, same limit: 4 weeks. Epididymo-orchitis from C. trachomatis: at least 10 days. Anthrax post-exposure: 60 days twice daily.
Malaria prophylaxis: 100 mg daily, 1 or 2 days before travel, during the stay, 4 weeks after, not past 4 months. That is prevention, not a Lyme substitute.
04Once the infection is named, which page holds the clock?
Duration: how long a Doryx course runs. Frequency: once or twice daily. Onset: days into the written course.
The product identity remains Doryx 100 mg delayed-release. A wrong form is still a wrong form after the organism is named.
05What rickettsial names are actually on the indication list?
Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus and the typhus group, Q fever, rickettsialpox, and tick fevers caused by Rickettsiae. Those are the labelled rickettsial uses.
Tick fever on that list is not a blank check to paste a Lyme calendar. If the writer named RMSF, pediatric exception language for children 8 and under can apply when no alternative exists.
06What does adjunctive therapy in severe acne actually grant?
A labelled use. Not a day count. Not a promise the face clears on a forum schedule. Long-term therapy, if the writer keeps it going, wants periodic blood, kidney, and liver checks.
Phototoxicity still applies on a month-scale acne pack. The sun-stop is discontinue at first erythema, on the sunburn probe. Do not treat acne adjunct as a weaker sun row.
