Can you keep Clomid 50 mg after a positive test?

No. Stop the tablet if pregnancy is confirmed. Clomid use in pregnant women is contraindicated because treatment offers no benefit in that population. Each cycle should include tests for ovulation and for pregnancy so the next 50 mg course does not start after conception. Leftover tablets are not 'one more day for luck.'

01What the file says about nursing

Forest-green still life: positive test space, blister closed

It is not known whether Clomid enters human milk. Caution if it is given to a nursing woman. In some patients it may reduce lactation.

That is a separate room from the positive-test stop. Visual symptoms on any leftover tablet still go to the vision-flag pulse.

02How zuclomiphene can linger after conception

Single-dose volunteer work found zuclomiphene detectable longer than a month. Some active drug may remain in the body during early pregnancy if conception occurs in a treatment cycle.

That PK sentence is why you stop further swallows. It is not a reason to start a second INN at home. Open clomiphene 50 mg for the course identity.

03What tests belong in each cycle

Appropriate tests should be used during each treatment cycle to see whether ovulation and/or pregnancy occurred. That is how inadvertent early-pregnancy dosing is avoided.

Missing a period after an ovulatory response means reevaluate before anyone opens the next blister. The wait probe is the 5-to-10-day look.

04How Category X is written

The contraindication is benefit, not a proven human teratogen signal above background. Animal studies did show more embryo-fetal loss and structural malformations.

Rat organogenesis doses of 1 to 2 mg/kg/day produced hydramnion and temporary bone changes. Higher animal doses added resorptions, dystocia, and, at 200 mg/kg, cleft palate. Those are animal numbers, not a human milligram map.

05Why a positive test stops the tablet

The goal of therapy is ovulation for a later pregnancy. Once that pregnancy exists, more clomiphene has no labelled job. Pregnancy Category X sits on the file.

If the drug is used during pregnancy, or if the patient becomes pregnant while taking it, she should be told about potential fetal risk. Available human data do not show a rise in anomalies above background when used as indicated.

06Why leftover 50 mg is not one more day

A pale home strip is a clinic call, not a cue to finish Thursday's tablet. A bright positive is a stop. Do not 'complete five' after conception.

The next course, if any later pregnancy ends, still waits for the interval exam. See repeat-cycle.

Vault consult

Answers follow the U.S. Clomid label.

Joris B. Faint line on the last 50 mg morning. Take it?

Vault reply

Hold the tablet and confirm pregnancy. Do not finish the pack for luck.

Kira F. Does a positive test raise birth-defect risk on the file?

Vault reply

Human data do not suggest a rise above background when used as indicated. Animal studies did show malformations. Stop because there is no benefit, not because of a shop scare number.

Leonie A. Miscarriage last month. Restart 50 mg this week?

Vault reply

Only after pregnancy is excluded and ovaries are checked. A new course is not automatic the week after bleeding.
