01What Teva launched that month
Teva's 11 December 2017 notice said it had launched generic Viagra (sildenafil citrate) tablets in the US. The company named the ED indication and the wraparound access program it was offering that week. It did not rewrite the labelled start.
25 mg and 50 mg on a Teva bottle are still the start strengths this vault follows.
02Which strengths the generic bottle can name
US generic sildenafil for ED is supplied as 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg film-coated tablets, matching the brand ladder. Revatio 20 mg is a different indication and a different schedule.
Sibling: the three US tablets. The sildenafil 25-50 mg vault keeps 25-50 mg in view.
03What changed in December 2017
Brand Viagra had been the only US ED sildenafil tablet since 1998. In December 2017 a generic citrate tablet reached licensed pharmacies. The ingredient did not change. The name on many bottles did.
A prescription that already said sildenafil 50 mg could then be filled as generic. A prescription that said Viagra could still be filled as brand if the plan allowed it.
04How 25-50 mg sits after the brand cliff
After December 2017 the usual US fill for a 50 mg start is generic sildenafil. The start is still 50 mg about one hour before sexual activity for most men. 25 mg remains the consider-start on the same insert.
Getting a US fill is the next job if the question is how the line gets written.
05Why an ANDA number is not this page's job
A forum screenshot of an ANDA string is not how a patient checks a bottle. The pharmacy label names the manufacturer, the milligram, and the count. This probe does not invent or guess an application number.
If two generics look different, that is imprint and dye, not a new enzyme story.
06What Greenstone's same-day carton was
Greenstone, a Pfizer subsidiary, put an authorized generic on the same calendar day. That carton is sildenafil from the brand family, sold as generic. It is not a second molecule.
Two generic names on day one did not create an aisle product. Both still needed a prescription.
