01How a short-burst miss differs from a months-long miss
On a five-morning pack, one forgotten swallow is usually a same-day question for the pharmacist. On a months-long 10 mg habit, the same forgotten swallow sits next to the abrupt-withdraw warning.
The cold-stop probe owns the planned stop. This page owns the forgotten one.
02Why a missed swallow after weeks is not a tiny skip
After weeks, the axis may already be quiet. A gap is how some people meet withdrawal and how others meet a disease flare. Neither one is fixed by taking yesterday's tablet on top of today's.
The insert's patient line is talk before you stop, and avoid abrupt withdrawal. A string of missed mornings is a stop you did not plan.
03What doubling is not on the label
No labelled catch-up arithmetic. No 'take two at noon.' The daily total is the written total. Extra 10 mg from the bottle is a new dose, not a repair.
If you remember the same morning and it is still before the next written time, ask the pharmacist who filled the pack how that slip wanted a same-day remember. Do not guess from a search bar.
04When to call before the next morning
Call if you have been on weeks and you missed more than a single swallow, if vomiting started, or if the disease roared back overnight. One remembered same-day tablet on a short pack can wait for the pharmacist's read of the slip.
No catch-up clock will be invented here. Missed-dose questions can go back to the prednisone vault after you call.
05Why you do not start leftover 10 mg from a drawer
A forgotten current course and a leftover finished course are different bottles. Starting the drawer bottle is a new plan. New plans need a new line.
See prednisone is not OTC if the drawer feels like an aisle.
06What to do if vomiting started
If the tablet will not stay down after weeks of 10 mg, that is a call. Absorption is gone and the axis may still be quiet. Do not switch to a neighbor's leftover pack to 'make up' the morning.
Confusion, fainting, or severe weakness with the vomiting skip this probe.
